    Turin, 26 June 2008. Pininfarina is proud to announce that the International Jury of the 21st ADI Compasso d’Oro Award has selected the concept car Nido for the ADI Compasso d’Oro Award in the section dedicated to projects which anticipate new trends in transportation design.

  • Alenia Aeronautica and Pininfarina: a long-term partnership on High-Tech and Design “made in Italy”
  • Within a long-term partnership between Alenia Aeronautica, a Finmeccanica Company, and Pininfarina Extra (Pininfarina Group) – which will cover also testing, aerodynamics, mock-up, 3D animations – , Alenia is studying the development of a new-conception interiors signed Pininfarina, offered as an option for the Sukhoi Superjet 100. The aircraft is the most modern and ecological 95-seat regional transport jet available on the market and is made by Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Corp. (SCAC) in collaboration with Alenia Aeronautica.

  • Pininfarina to set up a Centre for research, design and engineering in India with support from Tata
  • Tata has expressed interest in participating Pininfarina’s planned capital increase

    Turin April 24th, 2008 – Pininfarina intends to establish a Research, Design and Engineering Centre in Pune, India within the end of 2008. Pininfarina and Tata have signed a Letter of Intent wherein Tata will support this Centre in India with contracts and participate with a minority interest. Pininfarina will be the majority shareholder with management responsibility.

    “This agreement witnesses the great attention Pininfarina is dedicating to an emerging and highly developing market such as the Indian one”- declares Andrea Pininfarina, Chairman and CEO of Pininfarina S.p.A.- “Thanks to our partner, one of the worldwide major automotive manufacturers with strong roots on the Indian market, we will reach a higher excellence level in the design and engineering sectors”.

    The Centre - that will be able to provide its services also to other Indian and international automotive manufacturers - enlarges the Pininfarina offer of services to the OEMs, thus strengthening the engineering best cost services developed since 2005 with Pininfarina’s Moroccan engineering centre. This investment also highlights Pininfarina’s strong desire to work with new and significant players in the world motor vehicle industry, as well as with established players, looking to improve its competitive position.

    To further reinforce the strategic tie between Tata Group and Pininfarina Group Ratan Tata, Chairman of Tata Industries Limited, has expressed interest in the Tata Companies participating Pininfarina’s planned capital increase with the subscription of a portion of the options that will be assigned to the Pininfarina family.

    Turin, April 18, 2008. Pininfarina will be holding the world debut of three cars designed for some of its Chinese clients at the Beijing Motor Show: the Brilliance Junjie station wagon, the JAC A108 and the A107.
    The A3 Jiaoche and the A3 YunDong, which were designed and developed by Pininfarina, and will soon go into production, will be on display on the Chery stand.

  • The Bolloré Group and Pininfarina Join Forces to Manufacture and Market an Electric Car

    Turin, December 21, 2007 – Bolloré and Pininfarina agreed to establish a 50-50 joint venture to manufacture a car that will be 100% electric. The car will be sold under the Pininfarina brand. The total investment is estimated at about 150 million euros. The electric car, which will be manufactured by Pininfarina in Italy, will benefit from the vast expertise gained by Pininfarina in the design and production of top-of-the-range automobiles and will be equipped with a revolutionary Lithium Metal Polymer battery developed by the Bolloré Group.

  • Turin, December 14 2007 – The agreement establishing application for Pininfarina of the Special Unemployment Benefits Fund, under waiver, for 12 months starting from January 2 2008, and which will involve all Company units, was sealed yesterday with the Trade Unions at the Region of Piedmont.
