VITRA which will rise in Balneário Camboriú, Santa Catarina, Brazil, will be located in a central shopping street close to the local beach. The skyscraper has been divided in two different areas: a commercial and a residential one. The Pininfarina team has designed the commercial area, at the base of the building, using large glass walls as part of the façade front in order to give high visibility to luxury shops and to enhance the visual experience between the inside and outside. In order to distinguish the commercial area from the residential, Pininfarina has provided a band, an iconic element that strongly identify the building, turning the project into a unique landmark.
The band is characterized by dynamic and fast lines, which reminisce a race track, conveying a sense of movement to the entire structure. The residential tower aims to let its residents enjoy the spectacular view by the use of a brise-soleil system that, beyond having an aesthetic value, has an important functional role, allowing the sea breeze to flow. Pininfarina has also designed an incredible variety of common areas, such as: dry and wet bars, a flame bar, tennis and basketball courts, full spa and gym, game room, children’s play room, playgrounds, the sky lounge on the rooftop, and more. All resembling the same elegance and refinement as the exteriors of the building, providing again a full Pininfarina luxury experience with outstanding innovation and technology combined with awarded design quality.
