K350

WHAT

In perfect harmony with the environment

Following the presentation at 2017 Shanghai Motor Show of the five seater SUV K550 and the seven seater SUV K750, a new four seater SUV joins the range of environmentally friendly vehicles developed for Hybrid Kinetic Group, demonstrating once again Pininfarina’s ability to combine styling research to environmental sustainability.

It stands as the most compact SUV in the range (length 4605 mm, width 1890 mm, height 1640 mm) but the perfect proportions, the well-placed volumes on the wheels and its robust and athletic "body" certainly make it as attractive as the other members of the family.

With K350 Pininfarina, once again, demonstrates its ability not only to design beautiful cars, but to masterly develop the identity and formal language of a brand. The evolution of codes and DNA created by Pininfarina for HK directs the product towards a wider audience, certainly young, towards a 360 ° use of the medium thanks to a design in which refinement and elegance coexist naturally with strength and sturdiness.

Volumes are full, strong, sensual, while surfaces are sophisticated, all contributing to a touch of sportiness in a very simple formal language. The front of K350 represents another interpretation of the typical features of the HK brand, such as the vertical chrome partitions, immersed in an area with a glossy black finish that also integrates the headlights. These are made with three illuminated elements optically connected to the grille and without the use of a lens, so to further emphasize the reading of different layers that make the grille area precious and three-dimensional.

On the side view we recognize the typical momentum of the HK cars, thus introducing more daring volumes, with surfaces that create sophisticated and "liquid" reflexes. The typical chrome treatment that distinguishes the brand, which in this car finds new life serving as a separator between the pearly white body and a shiny black roof, leads the eye to the back area.

The rear is very simple and clear, a clean and tilted volume that helps to direct the attention towards the lights, which are set between the rear window and a passing band that integrates the HK logo. The rear lights appear like a luminous blade that crosses the car, passing over 5 vertical sections of each light.

K350 interior concept has been conceived thinking at a younger generation of customers travelling and enjoying time together. Based on customer user experience, the interior wants to emphasize the link between passengers, thanks to the creation of an innovative connection system in the interior space. The high sophisticated seats become the focus of the interior, both emotionally - linking together the passengers, and architecturally - creating a light structure that shapes the space around it. The seats are connected by a light armrest-bridge, creating a structural wave between them, and carrying a floating touch display (connected to the car interface experience). The floating seats have light headrests with head speaker and microphone integrated. Voice Control is also available.

When the car is parked, the dashboard is closed like a shell. However, as soon as the driver gets on, the top of the dashboard rotates and a huge screen is revealed. The dashboard integrates rich materials and high technology, continuing on the path traced by HK GT and exploring new borders. The air vents are perfectly integrated inside the dashboard shape like blades surrounded by noble materials and high quality trim. The dashboard flows into the door panels, where an armrest covered with leather designs a light shape on a based wood trim.

As in the HK GT concept, K350 offers two different driving modes for the interior: Comfort mode is for daily driving with a blue ambient light, while a Dynamic mode switches to a red ambience light and all the display information become more technical.

The exteriors are in a light and sophisticated white to showcase the power of the car and add a strong feeling with the contrast inside. The dark interior has been used to evoke comfort and sportiness. The braid on the seat is handmade and gives strength and refinement. To lighten the whole impression, the top of the seat is orange – the color that is a leitmotiv for all the 3 HK models presented in Beijing 2018 - with an embossed logo. This pattern consists of a mix of orange and black lines to add dynamism and sophistication to the shape. Robustness with the Ebano wood open pore is found everywhere in the car, such as door panels, the backside of the seats, and also the dashboard.

High-quality materials such as the above mentioned wood open pore Ebano, leathers with sophisticated touch, wool carpet and headliner in Alcantara, create an interesting mix blending roughness with sophistication. Even the backside of the front seats are finished in open pore Ebano in the lower area. As a final refinement, the HK logo is embossed on both headrest of the driver and passenger seats.
