ALYON is an innovative padded seat project signed by Pininfarina for Calligaris.
Equipped with a readily recognisable aesthetics, the Alyon can not be simply defined as a sofa, it is rather an integrated system of padded seats, surfaces and compartments with accessories.


Pininfarina touch

ALYON is available in various compositions – including units for small spaces – with a corner piece, chaise-longue and decorative cushions. The seats and the height of the backrests offer great comfort and support, whereas the seat depth makes this sofa suitable both for relax and conversation. The central unit features an optional storage drawer, while the ottoman is stored under the chaise-longue. The ottoman has a stiff padded surface and conceals a compartment and a handy cushion which can be removed and laid on the surface to turn the ottoman into a comfortable seat. The unmistakable Pininfarina touch marks the sculptural support of the chaise-longue which recalls the details of luxury cars.

Frame: solid wood, multilayer wood, chipboard

Foot: 2,5 cm, non-slip, polypropylene foot;
          Matt Silver varnished polyurethane support for the chaise-longue

Spring system: Greek spiral-springs in the seat, elastic belts in the back

Padding: seat cushions in expanded polyurethane at differentiated densities (D30+D25) and feather mix, backrest cushions in feather mix

Upholstery: all fabrics and leathers available in the sofa swatch range
                      Partially removable fabric or leather covers (seat and backrest cushions)

Discovering new features

One year after the great success of the Orbital extendable table which won the 2012 Interior Innovation Award, Pininfarina imagined and designed the Alyon, an innovative padded seat project presented in preview at the Furniture Show.

The expression of a futuristic style.


Pininfarina is back working with home design leader Calligaris for this challenging project.
